CROWN POINT | Residents gearing up for home improvement projects had the opportunity to visit with numerous contractors Saturday during the Lake County Home and Lifestyle Show at the Lake County Fairgrounds.

Homeowners received advice about window treatments, foundation repair, patios, room additions and other potential projects during the program, which is sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana.

Vicky Gadd, the association's executive officer, said having numerous contractors in one place is a valuable resource for homeowners because it allows them to easily compare prices and available services.

She said the face-to-face interaction homeowners have with vendors also is important because it gives residents a chance to get to know people who could be handling projects at their homes.

Gadd said vendors participating in the show offer high-quality products and services. Many contractors at the show are members of the Home Builders Association of Northwest Indiana, she said.

The Lake County Home and Lifestyle Show continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the fairgrounds.

Adult admission is $7. There is no charge for children younger than 18.
