With booths from 24 different vendors in one location, attendees will be able to get project advice and see product demonstrations that could help with all their home improvement needs, indoors or out.
Painters, fencing companies, lawn supply companies, concrete finishers, mattress stores, pool and spa builders, and many more area businesses will have booths at the show.
'We are pleased to bring the inaugural East Alabama Home and Garden Show to downtown Opelika this year,' Rex Maynor, Opelika-Auburn News publisher stated. 'Through our partnership with the Event Center Downtown, and our presenting sponsor, The Home Depot, we look forward to bringing local residents and businesses together under one roof to pick up new ideas and see new trends for updating indoor and outdoor living spaces.
'There will be something there for everyone, from the master gardener to the new homeowner, as well as several kid's activities.'
Door prizes will be given out every hour, including a grill from The Home Depot.
Parents will also be able to bring children to The Home Depot's kid's workshop during the show.
'The kid's workshop is something we do on the first Saturday of every month at the store, but we also do the workshop at different events throughout the area,' Home Depot store manager Jason Schoonhoven said. 'We love to see the kids getting involved with their hands and build something they are proud of. One of The Home Depot's core values is giving back, and we try to be involved as much as we can in the community.'
There is no admission cost, but attendees are asked to either donate $1 for the Newspapers in Education program or one dry good or canned food item for the Food Bank of East Alabama.
