Contractor charged with home improvement fraud

A Kaplan man is free on bond after being charged with home improvement fraud.


Abbeville police say Scott Allen Trahan was hired by the alleged victim to perform roof work at her home in 2011. According to investigators, Trahan started the work but never finished it. Police say the victim filed charges after multiple attempts to have Trahan finish the work.


The victim allegedly paid Trahan $8,200 to perform the work.


Trahan is free on $30,000 bond.
